First Screenshot of Delve Deep

Here's the first screenshot of my upcoming Android-based strategy game, Delve Deep.

I am irrationally excited about this.

For some reason, I expect smart phones to be like embedded systems - nightmares of custom drivers and serial cables. To whip up a quick tile-based system with OpenGL and actually see the results seems like magic.

There's still plenty wrong with it: There's no far background layer, the water stream doesn't properly intersect the pool, I don't like the foreground/background contrast on some of the tiles, just to name a few issues. I might never fix any of it though. Currently I'm too busy scrolling around the map, being amazed that it "just works."
